Scripture Sunday

When I started blogging, my first post was about my challenges for this year.  My third challenge ( although it should be my first), is to grow closer in my walk with God.  I'm a mom.  I'm busy.  So, I don't always feel like I'm paying as much attention to this area of my life as I should be.  And since He created me, it shouldn't just be an "area" to which I pay attention.  It should envelope every area of my life.  I should be constantly seeking Him.

So, I thought it would be helpful for me if I put some stuff in writing.  I'm usually pretty good about getting up before the kids and reading my devotional.  I have a wonderful Women's Devotional Bible.  And it's called "Women's Devotional Bible".  It's based on the New International Version translation and is by Zondervan.  There are hundreds of women who have written devotionals for this bible and there is a devotional for each day of the year.  I have not read it every day starting at the beginning of a year.  I don't remember when I started it, but there are times when I don't keep up.  I've been pretty good lately, but it hasn't always been that way.  Anyway!  The days aren't listed in a chronological calendar order(Jan. 1, Jan.2, etc.)  They're just written in order by day of the week.  So, if you get a little off track, it doesn't make you feel guilty b/c it's already June and you're only up to March's devotional.

Besides my daily devotional, I've decided to start keeping my sermon outlines from church in a binder.  I love binders!  They make me feel so organized.  And I decided to make Sundays on my blog, "Scripture Sunday".  I will come on and post a Bible Verse that means something to me for that day.  So, I will start today!

"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perserverance; and to perserverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective, and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins."  2 Peter 1:5-9.  NIV

Everyone have a blessed day!  Is there a Bible Verse that has special meaning to you that you would like to share?
