Daddy built Loft #2

My daughter ended up liking my son's loft so much, that we decided to build her one too.  So, my husband did it yesterday.  I know she's excited.  Mommy is nervous though because she still wakes up a lot at night and comes into my room for one reason or another.  I don't like that she has to climb up and down that ladder in the dark in the middle of the night.  But, she loves the loft, so. . .

Anyway, here are some pictures of her newly improved room.
And YES, her room is pink.  Waaaaay pink.  When we first moved in, the only requirements were that she wanted pink walls and I was trying to match the stuff with her red dresser.  And then the dresser ended up in big brother's room because there wasn't room in hers. Her room is like a closet. And that's what it's going to become once we do our addition.  The master bedroom closet.   But anyway, in her room we stuck with the red/pink/every color under the sun stuff that we got.  And I think it suits her.   Just like her short, sassy haircut.

The castle pictures I painted for her 3rd birthday.  We had a "Pink Princess Tea Party".  And they were part of the decoration for her party.

As I said, we bought the comforter to try to match the red dresser.  You might have seen it at Target a couple years ago.

The hot pink stripe is what we matched the bedskirt to, which is what we ended up using as our crazy pink wall color.
When I was getting the stuff from Target, I loved the turquoise colored flower sheets with this comforter.  The flat sheet actually ended up being a curtain over the closet.  The closet originally had sliding doors and it wasn't easy to fit everything in.  So, I asked my husband to take the doors off!  I put up a spring rod shower curtain, which fit perfectly.  Then I made a little slit on either end of the top part of the sheet.  Just slid the shower rod right in and it was perfect!!

You know how Target always has everything in the same color groupings at any one time?  I also made a big ol' pillow for her out of a beach towel.  I love it because it has polka dots.

The curtains I ended up getting for the room were shower curtains that they had on sale at the time.  You can see it in the right side of the pic.  Since one curtain came down when my husband built the loft, I pushed it down by the mattress and it became a curtain to the play area under the loft.

Here's the play area:

I know all the crazy colors and patterns aren't for everyone, but it suits us perfectly!!  Everyone have great Monday!
