DIY Homemade Playdough Easter Egg Gift

This is the easiest homemade playdough recipe that I've ever used.  There is absolutely no cream of tartar to find and no standing over the stove.  It uses flour, salt, koolaid, vegetable oil and water.  That's it!  Future Fashionista and I were able to make all 4 batches in 40 minutes.

Playdough Recipe
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup salt
1 package unsweetened Koolaid
3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 cup hot water (warm in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes)

This Homemade playdough Easter egg gift is super-easy to make!  All you need is one egg carton, 12 plastic Easter eggs, homemade glitter playdough and cookie cutters, if you'd like to attach them.

We used Lemonade with yellow food coloring for the yellow.
Lemonade with green food coloring for the green.
Kiwi-Watermelon for the Pink--You could use Strawberry, Cherry, Fruit Punch--anything pink.
Grape for Purple

Mix all dry ingredients together.  Add in oil until "crumbly".  Add water and stir.  At this point I added extra flour until it was a dough-like consistency and kneaded it.  Once I kneaded it a little, I flattened it out, sprinkled glitter on and "folded" in the glitter.

The glitter pretty much stays put in the playdough, so you don't have to worry about glitter getting everywhere.

I decorated my Egg carton with Springy scrapbook paper and tied the cookie cutters on!

How cute are these playdough Easter egg gifts???
