Happy Thankful Thursday everyone!! Please remember to come back tonight after 10 PM EST to link up with us at the "Sit and Relax" weekend hop! (Or any time before Sunday at midnight). Also, if you have any Quick and Easy recipes, link them to the "Weekly Quick and Easy Recipe Hop". It's a week-long linky that runs Monday to Monday. I'll choose 2 recipes each Tuesday to feature. Now, for the 5 things this week for which I'm thankful.
I'm thankful that there is a lower chance of rain between 10 and 1 today while we have our zoo field trip.
I'm thankful for bloggy friends, who lift me up and keep me going when I have doubts and frustrating days.
I'm thankful for real-life friends who can go out for coffee with only 3 hour's notice.
I'm thankful that the funnel cloud didn't touch down here on Monday and that everyone in our area is safe. Prayers for everyone else in the country who weren't as lucky. There are so many right now. God, please be with them and their families in their time of tragedy and need and please keep everyone safe today as more storms go through.
I'm thankful for the birds that sing, chirp and chatter in the morning because they always offer hope for new beginnings each new day.
With the scripture that I chose for Scripture Sunday last week and the fact that I'm in the book of Colossians in my Women's Devotional Bible this week, it seems maybe I'm really supposed to be in this book of the Bible. I love the "thankfulness" verses from this book also. So, here again, is another passage from Colossians.
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."--Colossians 3:15-17 (NIV)
