Thankful Thursday and Updates on Busy-Ness

Hi everyone!  Thursday is usually when I do my "Thankful Thursday" post.  I come up with 5 things for which I'm thankful during the current week.

  1. I'm thankful that my husband has been safe on his job so far.  It was a teeny bit (a lot) dangerous this week.  They were tearing down a steeple on top of a church.  He said he's past the really dangerous part now.
  2. I'm thankful that one day is not my whole life.  I'm allowed to slip one day and it's okay.
  3. I'm thankful that I'll have time alone with Logan today.
  4. I'm thankful that I kept my patience yesterday when Jaycee had a HUGE temper tantrum.
  5. I'm thankful that my kids have huge imaginations and had lots of fun outside last night.
  6. One extra!!  I'm thankful that it's SUMMER!!
  7. Another extra!  I'm thankful that I've seen lots of  fireflies since last Friday!
Now, for the updates!  I have been really busy around here.  I really have way too many irons in the fire right now!   I have been trying to be more focused on my husband and making him a priority, which obviously takes time away from my blogging time.  So, I haven't had as much time to hop around this week, reading other people's blogs.  I did make it by everyone who signed up for the Sit and Relax weekend hop last week, though!

The gymnastics gym that we go to is closing soon to change locations and so we've been packing in as many of our camp days this week and last as possible, since they won't be open for about a month.  And they didn't know if they would be open again until Fall, so we just did as many as we could before they close.
This week, Jaycee did 2 camp days without Logan, so that I could have time with Logan.  So, I NEED to spend time with him. . . not blogging!  ;)

I'm painting furniture in Jaycee's room for an update.  We got a cabinet at a garage sale for $1 a couple weeks ago and we decided to paint it green, which in turn led to painting all of her furniture green.

I'm teaching "Saturday school" at church on Saturday night.  My brother-in-law is coming into town this weekend and we have a birthday party on Sunday.  And the kids and I leave for FL on Tuesday for 2 weeks.

They told my husband yesterday that they need him to go to Detroit for 3 weeks, starting Monday.  So, my husband is extremely disappointed.  The kids and I are leaving for FL on Tuesday and he was hoping to take a week off to go do his own thing.  Remember that restlessness I talked about??  He is really on edge right now.  And this happens ALL THE TIME.  Every time he almost gets to have a little fun, work needs him somewhere.  And he doesn't get the trip, relaxation, adventure, fun that he so desperately needs.

And he really wants to go to the dropzone this weekend because he hasn't had a chance to fly his new wingsuit yet.  So, on the weekend before the kids and I leave to go to FL, he's going to try to go to the dropzone.  But, his brother will be in town and how will he see him?  Uggggghhh!!  The planning and the restlessness and the . . .

That also means that I'm going to have to get the entire house in order, clean, pack and drive myself and the kids to the airport by myself.  It's bad enough flying with the kids by myself, although the older they're getting, the easier it's becoming.  Now at least I don't have to wear a baby, keep track of a toddler, push the stroller, carry the diaper bag, play bag, carry-on, purse, car seat and everything else by myself!  But, it was always nice having my husband drop us off so that we can kiss him goodbye right before our trip. I guess that's life and I'll just deal with it.  It's just disappointing and adds a whole new level of responsibility to the trip.

So, all of my other projects are going to be put on hold.  I was in the process of trying to finish up couch pillows that I started in the Spring.  And Mrs. Nono knows wanted a quick and easy tutorial on that Maxi Dress.  And I just can't do it all!!!   So, thank you all for being patient with me.
