Busy, busy "staycation" week

I hope that everyone is having a great week.  So far, our “Ignore the House week”, is going pretty well.  Since Sunday, we’ve been to 3 ice cream stands, 3 playgrounds, 1 nature center, hiked a small hike to a scenic overlook (teeny waterfall on the Chippewa Creek), played indoor glow in the dark mini-golf, been to the Museum of Natural History, and visited Lake Erie and the Rocky River (love the sound of rushing water).

Tomorrow, we have the zoo planned.  We had been talking about going to the beach tomorrow, so Jaycee is disappointed.  But, hopefully, we’ll make it to the beach on Friday.  And there’s a great Nature Center near the beach also.

We really are going to see how much we can cram into these last two weeks before school starts.   Be looking for posts on all of the great places above!!

We still have 2 days left in our “5 Ice Cream stands in 5 days” challenge.  Whoo!  Hard challenge!  Although, I am going to have to start working out.  Logan decided we should do another week of Ice Cream stands.  I do have a couple more in mind.  I could probably make it to 10 stands if I really, really tried! (Somebody twist my arm)   So far this week, I’ve had fat-free, sugar-free chocolate swirl (won’t do that again!), blueberry cheesecake ice cream and Peanut Butter Pretzel frozen custard.  Yummo!  Peanut Butter in “Ice Cream” is incredible!!

I hope you all are enjoying your last few weeks of summer vacation, if your kids haven’t already started back!  And, if you don’t have kids, I hope you enjoy the rest of the wonderful summer weather!  Hopefully, it’s cooled off wherever you are!  ~~It actually feels like fall here today!
