Out of the mouths of Babes

My daughter and I were driving around today and had lots of errands to run and things to buy.  It was going to be a long day in the stores for her.  Well, it was only going to be a couple hours, but for a four year old, that's a long time.  Her birthday is coming up and I guess she was thinking about what she would like for her birthday.  And, truthfully, I don't have anything for her yet.  So, I was excited when she said, "Mommy, do you know what would be the perfect gift for my birthday?".  Me--"What?"  "I'd like to be treated like an adult for one day."  As soon as she said, "I'd like to be treated like. . . ",  I assumed the rest of the sentence was going to be "Princess".  When she said adult, I was a little taken aback.

In all seriousness, I asked her if that meant she'd like to pay the bills, cook everyone's food, do all of the shopping, wash and fold everyone's clothes, do the dishes. . . .    She said "Yes".  Alrighty then!  Do you think that I'd really be able to get away with giving her that for her birthday?

Kids are so funny!

But, I really do need to buy her gift!!!  Her birthday is 10 days from now!
