ENDED--La Bella Stella Children's CD Review and Giveaway

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I recently received  a copy of La Bella Stella children's CD to review.
Jaycee and I popped it into our CD player while we were running errands and learned about night time and our Solar System.  The music styles on this CD are varied.  There are uptempo, quick songs and there are songs that would make wonderful lullabies.  I always love children's CDs because they usually have such a variety of musical instruments that you can actually discern.  On this CD, I heard acoustic guitar, harmonica, wind instruments, violin and more.

There are 15 tracks by some of the most gifted kids' musicians, such as Rocknoceros, Charity and the JAMband and AudraRox.  My favorite songs are "Shadow" by Mary Kaye and "Aurora Borealis" by Lori & J.D. Uponen.   And it's good that I actually like the music, too.  Because I made it ten minutes into my trip after dropping Jaycee off at preschool before I realized I was listening to a children's CD and there weren't any children in the van.

I actually "caught" Jaycee singing along to some of the songs the first time we listened to it.  And we listened to each new song wondering what we were going to "talk about" next.  The songs covered everything from shooting stars, fireflies, planets, the milky way, nocturnal animals, the moon.  When we were walking out of one of the stores while we were running errands, the first words out of Jaycee's mouth were, "Can we listen to that CD again?"

When I asked Jaycee which songs she remembered, these are the parts she remembered:
"Stars, stars, shooting stars" and the "song with the crickets" (Nature's Lullaby by Maria Alley)

The good thing about this CD is that it's educational.  The kids can actually learn things while listening to the music.  I have a feeling Jaycee will be able to name all 8 planets soon and know that Pluto is no longer a planet.  And now she knows what gravity does from the song "Gravity". . . . . "gravity keeps holding me down".  Very clever.

The CD is one in a series of five in the "Celebrate Earth" series.  La Bella Stella will be released on March 27th at a cost of $12.99.  It will be available online at www.recessmusic.com , amazon.com, iTunes, and brick and mortar stores throughout the US.  It is intended for children ages 4 - 11.

But, you could WIN ONE here!

    btw,
I love your photos of you and Jaycee in make-up. My daughter is the same way, I once made the mistake of letting her play with my eyeliner pencil… forgot it was waterproof! That weekend we got her some play make-up!

  6. I had never heard of Heartfelt Balance. I have an 8yo son with moderate autism and getting him to listen to music is painful. He really likes all aspects of nature and I think the Earth/nature aspect of this music may make him happy.
