My kids love the crunchy granola clusters that so many cereals have. But, I never know what exactly they put in those little clusters in those cereal boxes. And that makes me nervous. I like to know what goes into my food. That's why I try to make a lot of things homemade. I've tried to make my own crunchy granola clusters before, but all of the recipes that I've seen call for sooooo much sugar. Since I didn't have much luck making it, I figured the sugar must be what makes those little clusters so yummy and crunchy.
And I'm extremely happy to have found a brand that makes perfectly crunchy and healthy granola that's fairly low in sugar.
Nature's Hand Granola is very yummy! When I received the packages, we wanted to try the granola immediately. Nature's Hand has seven packaged flavors. We chose the Wild Blueberry and French Vanilla Almond to try. When we first opened the Wild Blueberry flavor, we could smell the blueberries right away. We opened our package before vacation--about two weeks ago. And we've been snacking on it ever since. We love that it's crunchy. And it's the perfect amount of sweetness.
The granola comes in packages that weigh 13 oz. And these packages are lasting us a long time! A serving is 1/4 cup and each package has 12 servings at a cost of $4.99. You can find out if they're carried in one of your local stores at the Nature's Hand website. Or, you can order online and have them shipped to you.
Nature's Hand has been around since 1971. The original recipe is a homemade recipe crafted by European immigrants. They developed a loyal following who used their granola as a topping, a cereal or an ingredient in baking. If you visit Nature's Hand website through the link above you can also find recipes that have been submitted by Nature's Hand customers. Some of them look really yummy--Carmel Apple Treat, Toffee Candy. . . . yes, please! There are also a couple recipes for cookies and muffins. Check it out! But, the kids and I love to just eat it straight out of a bowl! I also like putting it in my yogurt.
Nature's Hand is made with natural ingredients like whole grain oats, soybean oil, brown rice syrup and sunflower seeds. There are no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. It also has no sodium! And in a 1/4 cup serving, there are only 6 grams of sugar (Wild Blueberry). And, it has 2 grams of fiber, NO transfat and only .5 gram of saturated fat.
One of the great things about the granola is the packaging. The package now comes with a zip-top. So, all 12 servings stay fresh until it's gone.
Another cool thing to know about Nature's Hand is that they are the official granola of Outward Bound. Also, Nature's Hand donates more than 10,000 pounds of granola annually to local shelters. I LOVE that! I love companies who give back.
