Random stuff from the Week: Must have Blinked!, Kitchen Tile & Baby Artichokes

Well, here I am again, making another "Random Stuff" post.  Maybe I'll do them once a week.  It seems like there isn't enough time in the day to do everything I'd like to do.  So, I'll compile little snippets into a post about once a week.  Sound good?

**I must have blinked!!!!  Because this school year is over.  I have NO idea how it happened.  I made my last school lunch for the year. . . today.  Tomorrow, for the first time this year, Logan will eat pizza at the school.  It seems like I was just flipping out because I wasn't ready for the school year to begin and to start packing lunches for the first time ever.  Blink, blink, blinkety-blink.**

**Plants come to my house to die.  Seriously.  That's why I put "Have a successful Garden" on my 50 Before Fifty List.
This is a pumpkin plant that Logan planted from seeds at school.**

**And the other is a plant that Jaycee brought home for Mother's Day.  Poor plants.  Poor kids.**
**The only things that grow in my yard/garden/house are weeds.  All the weeds come to party.  Yay!!  Party at the HBHL house!

I can just see them out there, partying it up and singing:

"Party rock is in the yard tonight
Everybody just have a good time
And we gonna make you lose your mind
Everybody just have a good time
We just wanna see yaa!
Everyday I’m shuffling
Shuffling shuffling"

Except that the weeds can't shuffle.  They're rooted to the ground.  They WON'T give up their stronghold!  So, they're just waving their leafy hands in the air, partying away. . . taunting us.**

**Speaking of the 50 Before Fifty list, I need to add "Finish 50 before Fifty List" to the 50 before Fifty list.  I still have 20 things I need to come up with to write down.**

**If I had a dollar (the amount in the saying has gone up. . . you know. . . inflation and all) for every time I told my kids, "Whatever, they're your teeth" when I feel like they haven't done a good job brushing their teeth, I would be able to take a nice spa trip to forget about the fact that my kids don't brush their teeth the way they should.**

**We picked out the tile for our kitchen.  We still haven't found tile for the shower, which was the reason we went searching for tile last week.  The tile we liked for the shower was a mixture of a peaceful light green and neutral colors.  But, it was stone and $10.99/sq. ft., which is not in our price range.  So, we're going to have to find something in similar colors that is not so pricey. Wish us luck.**

**It's only 1 1/2 days until the BEST. SUMMER. EVER.  Be looking for this annoying screaming title on a lot of blog posts this summer.**

**I bought Baby Artichokes the other day.  I need to cook them tonight before they go bad.  I've never cooked an artichoke, much less baby artichokes.  Looks like a lot of work.  We'll see.**

**Jaycee might be moving into another swimming class.  The teacher feels like she needs to be pushed more and she can't do it with 2 smaller kids in the current class.  That's good though, because they're talking about moving her to the same night as Logan's class.  Then, between gymnastics and swimming, we'll only have classes on 2 nights a week during the summer.**

**I'm leaving for a beach vacation in about 9 days, and I don't think I'm "physically" ready yet.  I need to step up my fitness game, but I've been so busy!**

**I still need to create that park/playground/nature center/museum?? passport for this summer. . . which, as I said, starts in 1 1/2 days**

**Weather looks pretty good for the Strawberry picking on Friday.  Woo Hoo!!**

**I finally took my little "bridge" camera out of it's bag and tried to use it at the zoo yesterday.  It's going to take some getting used to.  It seems to still be as slow at capturing pictures as my regular point and shoot.  I would have gotten a really awesome picture of a gibbon yesterday if the camera would have taken the shot as soon as I hit the button!**

Have a wonderful day.  What are some random things going on in your life right now?
