People, Please! Turn the Captcha off!
I know, I know. . . captcha is there to stop "spam". But, you know what? I've had mine turned off from the beginning of my blog and I've only had a couple spam comments a month. And you know what? Most of those spam comments end up in my spam folder. Those couple of spam comments are worth dealing with to make my readers' lives more easy. Make your comment, hit "publish" and your done. Easy-peasy.
This is just my opinion. . . . although a lot of people tend to agree with me. Captcha stinks! I spent several (wasted) minutes yesterday trying to get the darn squished together letters correct. At some people's blogs, I had to do it 6 times. 6 TIMES!! I'm not even kidding! That happened to me at least twice yesterday. It's an annoyance when my time is already limited.
I almost gave up and said "It's not worth it" But, I persevered and my friends received their comments.
But, at what cost people? At what cost? I'll tell you. . . . my time and my sanity.
But, I STILL LOVE YOU ALL!! So, if you're a good bloggy friend, I'll keep trying. But, if I don't know you that well and it takes me more than one set of tiny squished letters. . . . I quit!
It's easy to turn captcha off if you use Blogger. Go to your "Settings" tab, then go to "comments" and scroll down until you see this:
This will require people leaving comments on your blog to complete a word verification step, which will help reduce comment spam. Learn more
Blog authors will not see word verification for comments.
What are your feelings on captcha?
