Handmade Feature | Steph from Pendants by Steph

I have been friends with this week's handmade crafter for almost as long as I've been blogging.  She has always been kind to me and I even listed her as one of the bloggers I'd like to meet in real life some day.  She makes beautiful hand-stamped pendants and sometimes other items.  Here is Steph to introduce herself!

*Tell us about yourself in three sentences
I am a former elementary school teacher (K-2). I am now a SAHM of 3 children. My family keeps me busy, but I love it!

*Do you have a blog?
I started Pendants By Steph to start moving my small business forward. Although I've realized that my main business will always be my family! You can visit my blog at www.pendantsbysteph.blogspot.com

*How and when did you begin crafting
I have always been a crafter. (Must have gotten that from my mom. She was always making things for my sister and I because we came to American with very little money. She did what she could with what little money we had while working numerous jobs.) I love to do things. My children have always been my main motivator to craft.
I started my first sewing project when my daughter was born. I made her a ladybug Halloween costume... but when Halloween rolled around, she had outgrown it! A lesson learned -- over-estimating for children is okay. :) I started my pendants business a few years ago (2010) when I saw a friend wearing a simple disc pendant with her children's names on them. I thought to myself, "Hey, I can do that!" So I did some internet research and now, here I am! I mostly started making these pendants as gifts. Along the way I had a few orders. Now I continue to get orders through referrals. I mostly work through referrals because as I mentioned before, my family comes first. My small business is fun and relaxing for me. I meet amazing people from all over and I want to keep it that way. I want to continue the personal communications and maintain a fun atmosphere around my work and passion.

*What is your favorite craft to do?
I love to sew. Although I know I don't do it too well! But my daughter proudly wears what I make her and that is enough for me. Of course, I love to make various jewelry for my family and friends too!
*How long have you been selling your services/crafts?
In 2010 I decided to start my small business blog... It was very scary! But looking back, I remember being so anxious and so happy at the same time!

*How can we find you? (facebook, etsy, blog, twitter, pinterest, etc)
I am not the best at using/posting on FB... but I am there too!
I try my best to focus on my family. So sometimes I have to let my blog and/or FB go when events occur at home or school. I love being involved at my children's school.

Anything else you'd like to cover?
I am so thrilled to have met such amazing people while blogging. Michelle, you are so amazing! I don't know how you juggle your life, family, and blogging! You do it so well. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you!!!!
Thank you Steph for stopping by and your kind words.  And there are days when I feel like I don't juggle all of it very well!!
