Crazy week! Updates and Stuff!

Well, it's been a crazy week!  My prayers go out to everyone who was in Sandy's path.  As I said on Facebook, "When I moved from Florida to Ohio, there was supposed to be an exchange--Hurricanes and crazy spiders for Snow.  Now, we've had all three. . . . well, no snow yet this year, but it will be coming soon.  And just in case you were wondering. . . . that big, hairy wolf spider my kids adopted in this post as a pet is still alive.
Luckily, we kept our power throughout the storm.  There were a lot of outages around though.  The kids had off school yesterday because of the weather.  We were going to try to go to the grocery store, but they didn't have power.  So, we went to a friend's house instead.  We didn't have any serious damage.  There were a couple spots where siding came loose and one piece of flashing came off over the front of the garage.  So, thank God for no real damage.

I've been trying lately to "go retro" on my hubby.  I thought it would be fun to wear a dress, pearls and heels around the house and try to have everything nice and perfect for when my hubby gets home.  I haven't quite hit the mark, yet.
One day I ran out of time to "dress up" because I was trying to get the house perfect.  Yesterday, I thought I was going to have 2 hours after I got home to get ready, but my hubby pulled into the driveway the same time we did.  Today, I'm going to be working out and won't have time to come home and get dressed.   I know it's a silly thing, but I thought it would be fun to try to be old-fashioned for one day.  And NO, I'm not trying to set the "women's movement" backwards.  YES, I know lots of women fought for our rights to be equal.  But, there's also something to be said for being your husband's "help-meet" and being a blessing to others and looking good while doing it.  And I've been watching a lot of Mad Men lately.  Although, Betty is an immature, spoiled little woman with a helper.  Maybe if I had a nanny/maid I could get everything done and have time to look perfect.

Other things that are going on~~
I have been on the generic of Lamisil for one month now.  I have two months to go, which means I still can't enjoy a glass of wine like the spoiled miss Betty.  I can't tell whether the Lamisil is helping or not.  I can't see a difference yet.  But, I'm happy to say that I haven't had any side effects.
Last week, we tried this shrimp recipe from Pinterest and everyone loved it.  Jaycee even asked for more.  And my hubby, who has decided recently that he doesn't like shrimp that much, enjoyed the shrimp made this way.

My hubby and I have still been "discussing" our future.  And every time we "discuss" it, he makes comments that make me feel like he thinks I'm worthless--because I won't have much social security and because I don't have a career right now and because I want to be here when my kids get home from school, even once they become teenagers--especially once they become teenagers.  It would seem that he's resentful that he makes the money.  But, truthfully, I'm working just as hard trying to secure our financial future.  Plus, we just have differing views.  I believe that God will provide whatever I need.  And if I don't get something that I want, then I don't need it.  That does not mean that I'm not working for my future.  I am.  I'm not the type to sit back and hope that things happen.  But, he just doesn't see everything that I'm doing.  I'm sure that a lot of you understand.

Also, Halloween has been rescheduled here.  Most trick-or-treating in Northeast Ohio has been rescheduled until Saturday or Sunday.  So, I'll post Halloween Costume photos on Sunday night or Monday.

Also, with everything going on, I forgot to post the Tuesday Twitter hop!  Sorry.  I'll post again next Tuesday.  But, be sure you come back tomorrow for the Sit and Relax hop this week!

I hope you remain safe with the crazy weather.  What has been going on in your life this week?
