"With this ring, I thee wed." How many of us have said those words? I truthfully don't remember if those were the words we used or not. What I remember is what a huge disparity in size there was in our wedding bands! I only wear a size 4 and I have no idea what size my hubby's finger is, but it was crazy when both rings were right next to each other. In fact, I made a joke to the minister about it. No. . . .I wasn't nervous or anything!
I've told you guys before the story about our rings. My hubby used a ring that was given to him by one of his friends that he used to work for. She had bought it at an estate sale. My ring was a cheap little white gold ring that I bought so that I wouldn't have to give his brother my engagement ring to keep on the wedding day. The band on my engagement ring was really large enough that I didn't need an additional wedding band. But as I said, I wasn't willing to give the engagement ring up!
My hubby doesn't wear his ring because of safety issues at work. So, he's out there every day in the world looking very much like a single guy. I would love to some day have matching wedding bands. I suppose at that point, we should call them "marriage" bands instead of wedding bands, because by the time we get them we will have been married for over ten years.
The Apples of Gold website has white gold wedding bands ranging from $209.00 for this ring:
All the way up to $2,275 for this band with a leaf imprint and diamonds.
They also have rings from the most simple to intricate and elaborate. I'm sure my hubby would prefer something more simple like this one.
But, since we would be getting "marriage" rings instead of wedding bands, I like this anniversary ring that has the wedding date:
If you will be looking for rings soon, but don't want to cover the expense of white gold, Apples of Gold also has silver wedding bands starting at just $38.
I LOVE this Turquoise Organic Sterling Silver band just to have. I love turquoise and this ring is really cute. I love that the silver isn't perfectly shaped.
But, for a true sterling silver wedding (or marriage) band, I love this ring with the Song of Solomon scripture on it.
If you are married, do you and your hubby have matching rings? Do you prefer white gold or silver or do you prefer yellow gold?

We have gold, nothing elaborate, nothing that makes the girls say, 'ooh and ahh' when they see my finger, but our rings are special to us. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have silver with 6 little stones. Not that elegant but very meaningful to us.
ReplyDeleteI would love to upgrade our rings. But then again, we rarely wear our rings these days. We already know we're married anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteI have looked at the rings from Apples of Gold in the past very nice. I had a plain gold band until last year when I purchased a set in white gold.
