Water Is Just the Beginning | World Water Day March 22

A lot of us take water for granted.  We can't imagine a life where we would have to walk hours round trip just to get water.  We turn on a faucet and there is clean water.  Can you imagine having to spend several hours of your day walking to get water?

And can you imagine how that time could be better spent?

March 22nd is World Water Day 2013.  It is a day established by the United Nations to take a look at water issues around the world.  Did you know that almost 2,000 children die every day because they don't have access to clean water and sanitation?   There are 783 million people in the world who do not have access to safe water.  That's 11% of the world's population.

Help spread the word.  Water is Just the Beginning.

There will be a Google + hangout on Friday March 22nd at 1:30 P.M. EST.
You can find it at
Google + World Water Day Hangout

And if you can't make it to the hangout, you can share posts with
hashtag #worldwaterday2013

  1. I just finished a book not long ago that documented this kind of thing in Sudan and it was just heart-wrenching.

This is a good cause, I'm glad you're promoting it.

I wanted to thank you too, for the thoughtful words you left on the post about my son's school situation. Much appreciated.
