Thankful Thursday

This week has been a bit crazy since I'm not used to going away for long weekends!  And it's stayed unusual since I've been back!  On Monday, a friend called me to go downtown to the courthouse with her and do lunch with friends.  On Tuesday, one of my friends called to see if I could watch his daughter.   Grocery shopping, which usually happens on Monday, got pushed to Wednesday.  And today I had a chiropractor's appointment.  Life would be boring if it was always the same though, right?

Tonight we will hopefully have soccer practice.  I'm so sad I missed my kids' games last weekend while I was gone.  They'll be playing at the same time on different fields this week, which will make it much harder to watch each of them.   And apparently, Future Fashionista (who has her father's muscle and strength) booted 3 goals in last week that left the crowds in awe.  And my Builder made yet another goal that the refs failed to call.

I didn't manage to stay within my $75 food budget for the week.  Aldi just has too many cool things.  Plus, it was a "makeup" week.  I needed to buy a lot of things that are once in a while things like:
laundry detergent, dishwasher tabs, margarine, parmesan cheese, toilet paper.  Those are things that I don't buy on every trip.  I'll have to plan better next month.  At this point, I plan to try to spend $17 less next week.  That would put me at a $58 budget next week.  We'll see how it goes.

NOW, on to the Thankful Thursday Post!!!  Even when things get crazy. . . . . . . especially when things get crazy, it is good to find things to be thankful for.

  1. I'm thankful that my friends and I made it safely to Nashville and back and that the weather cooperated for the race.  I'm thankful that I was able to complete my second half marathon. And I'm thankful that my hubby held down the fort while I was gone.
  2. I'm thankful that my friends feel comfortable enough to call me when they're in a bind and let me watch their kids.
  3. I'm thankful that I'll get a night out that includes my hubby this weekend and that my mother in law is able to babysit.
  4. I'm thankful that I'm not pregnant.  Ha!  I know that's a funny one out of left field.  I have been going through perimenopause for about 4 years now and it would seem that I'm getting close to the end of it all.  But, I took a pregnancy test just to be sure.  It was very unlikely that I would be pregnant since my hubby had the operation to take care of that--but you've heard stories, right?  I am so thankful that I'm not pregnant.  I'm not sure that this close to 45 years old I have another 18 years of hands-on child-rearin' left in me!
  5. I'm thankful that we've had blue skies several days this week and that it stays light until after 8:00 p.m. now.
  6. I'm thankful we found our kitty safe outside this morning.  That little girlie spent the whole night outside.
  7. I'm thankful that the flowers are blooming.  The hyacinths I planted last fall have come up and the purple tulips are on their way up, too.

Which things are you thankful for today?
