Chickpea, Avocado and Orange Salad

This is what happens in our house when we're trying to use up our produce.  We start mixing stuff together.  This is kind of like a fruit salsa because it has peppers, onions and garlic in it.  But, it doesn't have any cilantro, so I just called it a salad.

I had four navel oranges that had been sitting on my counter staring at me.  They weren't as bad as the annoying orange, but they were starting to get on my nerves.
"When are you going to eat me?  When are you going to eat me?"
They just sat there taunting me.  I tried to give them away to friends, but they never took them.

I decided to finally use them today.  We're having a super lazy day hanging around the house.
It's been raining here since last night, so it's a good day to just be lazy and get small things done.

Here's what I used:

4 navel oranges, peeled and each section cut in half
1 small avocado, diced
1/4 cup red onion, diced
1/4 cup canned green chilies
1 1/4 cup canned chick peas
1 tsp. malt vinegar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Here's what I did:
Mix all of the fruits and veggies together in a bowl.
Pour vinegar over the mixed fruits and veggies.
Shake pepper and garlic powder over the mixture.
Mix everything together.
Done!

Easy way to use up random fruits and veggies.

How do you creatively use up your leftovers and produce?
