Menopause? Is That You?

Circa May 2015

When I first started blogging back in 2011, I started to notice that my periods were becoming a little wonky.  Thus began the process of perimenopause.  I really freaked out back then because it truly was something I just did not want to go through.  Advance four years later. . . . . . .to now. . . .. and it's now been 63 days since I began my last period.  The last four years have been a guessing game as to when I would begin my period.  It was different every month, but I've never gone 63 days between the beginning of my periods before!

I bought a pregnancy test to make sure I'm not pregnant, because as far as I know they don't sell

"Is this it?  Am I finally nearing full-on menopause?" kits.

My friends and I have been joking this week about ways to get ourselves to start our periods.  On the top of our list was:

#1 ~~Wear white pants in public.

#2 ~~ Number two would probably be what I've already done.  Usually if I buy and use a pregnancy test, my period starts the day after I dole out a fortune for the pee on a stick test.

#3 ~~Number three to try to get myself to start my period is taking my multivitamin (Rainbow Light -Women's Multivitamin, Made With Organic Whole Foods) that I stopped taking because it was making me bleed too often and too much.  Still no period. Still. No. Period.  UPDATE October 2017:  I am now in Full-Blown Menopause and I am currently dealing with all kinds of issues that I don't remember EVER hearing about in Menopause.  I'll hopefully be discussing those on this here little blog soon.  And that multi-vitamin???  I take it almost every day now.

All of these crazy hormone changes are just making me so emotional!  If I'm not angry, I'm frustrated.  And if I'm not angry or frustrated, I'm crying for what seems like no reason at all.
It's maddening!  And my boobs hurt.  I'm tired.  I can't sleep at night, although it's not due to hot flashes.  That symptom I've been fairly lucky with (as of October 2017~~still not my main issue).  I haven't really had hot flashes too bad.  I might feel "flushed" every now and then, but not like you see some women have hot flashes.

I don't think it helps that this is happening in the middle of allergy season.  I think it's a double-whammy for fatigue.  I hope I make it through this!  Guess I'll stock up on calcium, fiber, moisturizers, hair removers and other necessities soon.

Oh!  And that Facebook guess your age app that's all the rage right now?  It guessed my age at 47, then 49.  Nothing like kicking a girl when she's down!!!  Ha!  I should've known better.
Oh well!  Hehehe.  Teach me to use an app like that.  Maybe it was the gray hair???

If you're middle-aged, have you had any perimenopause or menopause symptoms yet?  What are your feelings about it?
