Sparkling Lemonade Sherbet Float

Last week when we were making Rootbeer floats almost every day, my son asked me if they made floats with Sprite.  My reaction was, "Ewww, no.  I don't think that would be very good!"
Unless. . . . . . . you make it with sherbet!

We waited until today to look for ingredients for a sherbet float.  We wanted to do it with a lemon-lime soda, but when we were shopping at Aldi they didn't have any in a 2 liter bottle.  I didn't want to have to buy a 12 pack of cans of the lemon-lime soda.  While I was looking to make sure I wasn't just missing it, I saw a Sparkling Lemonade and *ding*, the lightbulb went off in my head that this sparkly, sweet pink lemonade MUST be the drink in our float.

It's in such a cute bottle.  It's made in France.  I'll probably keep the bottle after it's all gone.  It's just way too cute.
When I opened it, it sounded like a bottle of champagne.
The pink lemonade, together with the rainbow sherbet made a perfectly refreshing float.  It was great for a sweet treat on a hot summer day!

We started by scooping little rainbow sherbet scoops with our cookie scoop into a glass.

Then we poured the sparkling lemonade over the sherbet and we were done!
Except of course that we went totally
frou-frou and garnished the glass with a wedge of lime.
I seriously need to go back to Aldi and stock up on that Sparkling lemonade.

I guess it's really like an individual serving of a party punch, except that it's only 2 ingredients and heavier on the sherbet!

Have you ever tried different versions of ice cream floats?
