Summer Vacay Day 15 & 16 | Hiking, Ice Cream, Big Net & Family Picnic
Looking at our Summer so far, you'd be tempted to believe that we lead an active lifestyle. I guess that's true! We just really ramp it up in the Summertime. We're not much for Winter sports, so when the warm weather comes, we are OUT THERE!
Day 15 began with hiking at the Kendall Ledges in the Virginia Kendall Cuyahoga Valley National Park. You can see some of the photos in
Then we went for ice cream. There's a place on the side of the road that I accidentally found with my mom several years ago. . . . . that everyone else already knew about. We talked about
As far as I know, adding the sprinkles is a new thing! I don't remember them ever asking me if we wanted sprinkles before. I was the only one on this trip that didn't get sprinkles.
When we got back from the Ice Cream place, the kids got to test out the net that my hubby hung out back. My son has dubbed it the Hampoline--Part Hammock, Part Trampoline.
Yesterday on Day 16, we went to an annual family picnic that my mother in law has out at her campground. Future Fashionista sang many, many karaoke songs.
We all took a little spin on the canoe.
And everyone occasionally even participated in sporty activities like hitting a ball, kicking the soccer ball around or tossing the frisbee. . . . . except for the kids playing soccer, we're not that sporty in our house.
Some of us went on a tractor "hayride."
We needed to be home at a decent time though, because on the way to the campground earlier in the day, my hubby made an impromptu decision to sign up for this:
When we got home, we were pulling into the driveway and I saw a huge creature in our front yard!
I know you can't tell from this picture, but here it is anyway.
If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, how is your Summer going so far?
And BTW, Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!
