Summer Vacay Days 9 & 10 | Tiniest Strawberries Ever & a Random Ohio Palm Tree
Summertime, summertime. . . . . . . . moving right along.
Saturday became another lazy day for The Builder and me. Hubby had to go into work in the morning and then hung out with his friends most of the day. Future Fashionista was out doing her thing. She had spent the night with one of her friends and then she and her friend went with the friend's father to a local Fun Center. I guess she climbed the rock wall about seven times. She was going to spend the night with her again, but decided to come home around 9:00 that evening.
With nothing to do but clean the house, The Builder and I ended up getting junk food and watching The Incredibles. My hubby ended up getting home right at the end of the movie (which is one of his favorites) and then we all just ended up lazing around and watching more TV. Woo Hoo! Summertime. Right? I think we all need days when we can just do nothing, though. It's especially important since we're trying to make some pretty big life decisions right now. Sometimes your brain just needs to be entertained without all of the thinking, and thinking and thinking. You just need to go numb sometimes.
Sunday ended up being a random, do-your-own-thing, get some things done type of day.
Future Fashionista found some of the tiniest wild strawberries. They're smaller than a dime.
Hubby and Future Fashionista put together a puzzle, which for no other reason than to be silly we were pronouncing poooozle.
Daddy and Future Fashionista took a break from getting something from the barn to learn a new hand clap game.
Then they got what they went back there for. . .
a palm tree. An Ohio palm tree. They were getting rid of them somewhere and my hubby thought I'd like to have a palm tree. It's a very nice addition to our little abode. We don't know how long it will last outdoors. Maybe we'll get a season out of it. It's not alive. It has a little cement base and the fronds are wired in, although they look like they were part of a real tree once.
The rest of the day was spent avoiding doing the things that needed to be done and eventually having an impromptu get-together with friends. And then watching the Cavs lose.
This week has thunderstorms forecasted forever into the future. Bleh!
So, our plans are all up in the air and unknown. We were planning another water park trip, but that probably won't happen unless this weather shapes up!
Today will be spent running errands, doing our weekly grocery trip and writing up our menu plan for the week.
What's going on in your neck of the woods?
