Thankful and Thrifty Thursday (on Thursday!~~if I finish it. . . .)

Haha.  I might get this finished before I have to start socializing with people I only get to see once a year.  The kids and I made it home to FL!  The flight, as is typical with my experience with flying, was delayed two hours. Always fun with the kids in an airport, especially since we don't have any handheld electronics.  We've always told our kids that they'll be better people for it.  Ha!  We even make them go on our 19 hour roadtrips without electronics.  Long live creativity without electronics!
I can hear the stories they'll tell their kids now:
"When I was a kid, I was the ONLY kid that didn't have a phone or tablet to keep me entertained on our LOOOOOONG trips we had to go on!  It was horrible."

When my kids tell me they're bored, I say,
"Oh well. What are you going to do about it?"

Meanwhile, they sat there and told me that they were bored for the entire time at the airport and the entire time on the plane.  So, I guess all of the books and writing pads and drawing paper that they brought were for nothing.  Their books were "boring."  I told them, "I guess you brought the wrong books then."  I truthfully think they were just too excited to concentrate on a book.

Now, On to
Thankful Thursday
  •  I'm thankful that the kids and I made it to Florida safely.
  • I'm thankful that I have most of Future Fashionista's back-to-school clothes shopping done so that we don't have to deal with it when we get back.  Some of my family are coming back with us and I'd like to spend the time doing fun things.
  • I'm thankful that we have a chance to spend a lot of time with my family.  We've already gotten a chance to see my stepmom and dad and niece and nephew, who picked us up from the airport.  And I got to see my sister, mom, aunt, cousin, cousin-in-law and my little (2nd?) cousin. . . .I don't know . . . my cousin's child.  He's a cutie-patootie two year old and I sure miss that age!  Sometimes.
  • I'm thankful that I got to sleep until 9:00 this morning.  Yesterday was a long day!
  • I'm thankful that I'll get to see my brother and sister-in-law in 10 minutes.  I have got to finish this post quickly!
  • I'm thankful that the sun is out right now.  By the looks of the lakes around here, they've had just as much rain this Summer as we have.
  • I'm thankful for the beautiful sunset last night, although I never did get a picture of it.
  • There are many, many more things that I'm thankful for, but I need to get on to the

Thrifty Thursday
We were able to get all of Future Fashionista's clothes at our local Salvation Army on half-off day.
We spent approximately $52 and here's what we got.

Okay, so for $52, we got 4 pairs of soccer shorts and a pair of black "dance" pants.
We also got 7 pairs of pants,
13 shirts and
6 sweaters.
If I'm counting right.

I'm pretty happy with that.
Now, for back-to-school I'll just have to get some jeans for
The Builder.
He's so hard to fit that we'll have to do that at a regular store, but we were able to get some pairs that fit pretty well from Target for about $10 each last year.  So, here's hoping. . . .

I hope you have a Wonderful Thursday, everyone!

What are you Thankful for today?
