Our Organic Haul this Week

This week I kind of went overboard buying from the local organic distributors. I won't be ordering anything this coming week, though. I've been doing a pretty good job of keeping up with everything and not letting anything spoil. I need to clean, slice, blanche and freeze the zucchini so that it doesn't go bad before Wednesday. I'll be using it for a squash casserole that I usually bring for Thanksgiving at my I inlaws' house.

I said I went overboard---I spent around $120 this week.  Here are the three pictures of what we got.

In one box that was $21, we got:
2 pounds of organic rainbow carrots
6 organic Roma tomatoes
2 bunches of organic rainbow chard
3 organic limes
4 organic zucchini
2 organic avocados
1 organic pomegranate
2 organic acorn squash
3 pounds of organic apples
1 pound of organic beets
1 bag of organic celery

From Door to Door organics, I spent around $98.

I got:
1 bunch of organic broccoli
1 head of organic cauliflower
1 head of organic cabbage
4 large organic russet potatoes
1 pound of organic baby rainbow carrots
6 organic bananas
4 organic pears
3 organic romaine hearts
1 organic yellow onion
3 organic Roma tomatoes
3 organic cucumbers
2 organic zucchini
1 bunch of organic celery
1 organic green pepper
2 organic kiwi

And:
1 pound of locally raised free-range chicken beasts
1 pound of locally raised free range ground turkey
1 pound of organic grass-fed ground beef
1 pound of organic grass-fed beef stew meat
1 dozen locally raised organic free-range eggs
1 block of organic raw milk white cheddar

I spent a little more than I would have liked, but I won't need to shop for much this coming week.

Do you try to buy some organic things if possible?
