Frozen Lemonade Slushy

When life gives you overripe lemons. . . . . . .even when it's Winter, you make lemonade.  Or in this case, frozen lemonade.  I didn't feel like dealing with simple syrups and letting it cool and . . . . all of that!

So, I decided instead to make it a blender drink.  It's super simple once you get your lemons squeezed.

Have you noticed I seem to be having a citrus themed couple of weeks?  We'll all be on Vitamin C overload! Not possible.  Citrus is so welcome in the Winter time when it's so cold and gray out.  It just seems to brighten things up a bit.  All of the cheery colors and citrus-y scents make life a little brighter.

Here's what we used:

4 cups of ice
1 cup of water
1 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 5 lemons)
3/4 cup powdered sugar

We put everything in a blender and blended until it was slushy consistency.  If it's too thick for you, add a little more water.  It looks like a lot of sugar, but it's just because it's powdered sugar.  This was definitely sweet and tangy.  If you like things a little less sweet, just add less sugar.  The kids, of course, loved it!

Do you ever make homemade lemonade?
