Frozen Pink Salty Dog Slushy | Blender Drink

This drink came about because I have some red grapefruit that I need to use up.  My hubby did actually have gin in the house this time.  I looked up whether or not there was a drink that has grapefruit and gin and there is a drink called The Salty Dog.

Since I didn't want to juice my grapefruit and waste half of the actual fruit,
I cut the grapefruit in half and then peeled it and separated it into sections to freeze. I tried to get off as much of the white pith as I could.  I froze mine for about 3 hours in a ceramic bowl, turning it every once in while (the bottom sections were freezing faster than the top).

Once the grapefruit slices were frozen, I threw them into a blender with 1 1/2 ounces of gin, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. honey.    I blended until it was well blended and there were no big grapefruit chunks and it was the consistency of a slushy.

If you like grapefruit or grapefruit juice, you'll love this frozen alcoholic treat.
