Phytopia Tranquility Essential Oil Blend for Anxiety & Stress Relief Review

Essential oils can be so calming if you use them the right way.  I started buying essential oils a  couple years ago.  I don't use them as often as I'd like to, but I do use them.  I like to add mine to my homemade laundry soap sometimes or other homemade cleaning liquids.  Or I add them to a bath.  Sometimes, I just open the bottle and sniff!  Some of them are energizing and some of them are calming.

I've recently been given the opportunity to try out an essential oil blend that is supposed to promote tranquility and calm. **I received the product for free or highly discounted in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are 100% mine.**

"For those relaxing and rejuvenating moments"

The oil came very well packaged so that it was secure during shipment.  It was inside two perfectly fitted bubble wrap bags.  The bottle itself was also shrink-wrapped.  It had a cute little velvety bag that was tied with a little silver ribbon, so it would be nice to give as a gift.

I don't know if it's calming, but I can tell you that it's a nice, sweet scent.  When I first smelled it I thought it smelled powdery.  After smelling it a couple more times I realized that it reminded me of the smell of baby lotion.  There has to be a reason that baby lotion smells the way it does right?  To help soothe and calm a baby!

This is what the company has to say about it's blend:

"With the right blend of rose oil that helps combat stress, vanilla that stimulates mental clarity, geranium oil that helps release negative energy, and orange oil that promotes a sense of peace and harmony, Tranquility is the perfect choice to stabilize mood."

Tranquility is made with organic carrier oils and organic essential oils.  The oils that it has are as follows:
Olive Virgin
Evening Primrose

Essential Oils:
Orange Sweet
Geranium China
Rose Maroc

Tranquility comes in an amber bottle to keep it's potency longer and has a dropper top so that you never get too much at once.  I think this bottle will last me a while and it says on the bottle that it's shelf life is 36 months if stored in a cool, dry place.  The bottle is 1.69 fl. ounces.

The directions say to apply on skin and massage around shoulders and neck.  When I tried to rub some on my hubby's shoulders, he said the smell was too strong for him. I like the smell.  To each their own, right?  My son said that I should get a whole bottle for him because he needs the stress relief from all of the homework that he does.  My daughter said that she thought it smelled like vanilla.

I've read somewhere that they recommend to put it on before a shower.  That's probably a good idea, because although it doesn't feel too greasy when it's on, it did leave an oil stain on my hubby's shirt when I accidentally got some on it.

You can also put a couple teaspoons in a bath.  I am REALLY gonna have to try that soon.  I've been meaning to take a nice, relaxing bath for a while, but life keeps getting in the way.  For now, I put a couple drops of this on my pulse points on my wrists and massage on my neck behind my ears before I have quiet time.  I give my wrists a little sniff, take a deep breath and center myself for whatever I'm doing.  When I do it that way, I don't have to worry about getting oil stains on my clothes.

There are some nice touches on the bottle, which to me add a lot of charm~~

"Move on to the next Journey!"
"You feel excellent!"
"Love yourself in your own way!"
"Even 1% better than yesterday is enough!"

This is NOT supposed to be taken internally and is not meant to be burned or used in a diffuser. They also recommend that you not use it before strenuous activity or driving, since it is supposed to have a relaxing effect.
