I've been trying to grow my hair out since last fall. My hair grows probably at a normal rate~about a half inch per month. When I was given the opportunity to try this Coconut Oil for Hair Growth I jumped at the chance.
**I was able to try this Rapunzel Coconut Oil for free or highly discounted in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are 100% mine.**
Although I don't think I've been using it long enough to be able to tell if it's working to help grow my hair out quicker, I CAN tell you that it makes my hair super soft. I do have to use it before I wash my hair though. The Rapunzel Coconut Oil for Hair Growth is made with fractionated coconut oil and argan oil. Both are supposed to be really good for you hair.
I've tried to research WHY Coconut Oil and Argan oil help your hair grow, but I can't seem to find any posts with real science to back it up.
SOOOOO, I will just tell you my personal experience with this product.
I tried it two different ways. The directions say that you can use it on damp or dry hair and to either rinse or towel off the excess oil.
The first time I tried it, I used it on dry hair. I massaged it into my scalp and pulled it through to the ends. Then I covered my hair with a shower cap and a towel and left it on for 2 hours while I did stuff around the house. When the two hours was done, I washed and conditioned my hair as normal and blew it dry. My hair was soft and not greasy at all.
The second time I used it, I washed my hair first and then put the oil on my damp hair. I then tried to towel off the excess oil and then blow-dry my hair. When I flipped my hair and dried it, running my fingers through my hair, there were none of the usual snags or knots. Using it this way caused my hair to be weighed down and greasy, though. I ended up having to wear a hat because I didn't want to wash it again right away.
The oil comes in an amber bottle to keep it good longer. I don't think it has any kind of dropper top though. I tried to figure it out. You just pour it out of the bottle. I wish there was some type of way other than pouring it directly out into your hand. I feel like I'm afraid to get too much at once. Also, it ran down the bottle and made oil rings on my counter.
I will probably try to use it once or twice a week. I do love how soft it makes my hair!
