What I Worked Out to Today | Bodyweight Workout for Women on YouTube

I missed my workout yesterday because. . .. . I know. . . excuses,  excuses.  I missed it because I had to go to the store to refill my fridge with Whole30 goodness and THEN take down my Christmas decorations.

If you can believe it, my arms and shoulders were still a little sore from that Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown DVD that I did in the beginning of the week.

Today I managed to finally fit a workout in.  I wasn't going to go another day without working out because that's how that dangerous slide into not working out begins.  And it's only January 7th!  So, I found a workout on YouTube.  My hubby was once again playing video games on the TV, so it's nice that I can find workouts on YouTube on my laptop.

Today I decided to find a bodyweight workout.  What does that mean?  It means I don't need any equipment except my very own body.  Can't beat that.  A free workout with instruction and no equipment needed.

The workout was around 30 minutes long and had 3 circuits with 4 exercises each.  I'm not sure how long each exercise was.  I know that there was a 1 minute break between each circuit.  Each circuit was the 4 different exercises, done twice.  So for instance, there would be one cardio exercise, then one leg exercise, then a plank version and then a situp.  These are just examples.  You do all 4 exercises for a certain amount of time, then you do them again, then you get a one minute break to get water, etc.  Then you do another circuit.  Then the one minute break and then the third circuit.  So, each circuit is about 9 minutes each.

Here's what I liked about this video:
  • There is a warm-up and cool-down.
  • She explains each move before you begin the circuits.
  • She explains body position for each move.
  • She has ways to modify for beginners and advanced.
  • There is a 1 minute break between circuits to take a water break.
  • She has modifications if you would like to add hand weights.
Here's the video if you'd like to try it yourself:

She also had more videos that I might try at another point in time.
