Tips for Keeping Your House Clean

Managing a household is a lot of work. Not only do you have to keep track of your family members and pets, and all of their activities and appointments, but you also need to clean the house on a consistent basis. This is difficult when you have people running in and out, and throwing their belongings everywhere.

This is why it’s important to come up with routines and best practices for keeping your home tidy. You need tricks that are going to help you ensure the place is spotless the majority of the time without feeling stressed about it. It’s all about working smarter and not harder. Check out these tips for keeping your house clean.

Get on A Schedule

The idea of a cleaning schedule is that you don’t need to think about it. All you have to do is go through the motions when the time comes for each activity. This keeps your mind from skipping days and worrying about when you’ll fit it all in. Break up the tasks so you’re not forcing yourself to clean the entire house in one sitting. Designate one day for bathrooms, one day for floors, and so on. This way your home will be clean every week and you won’t need to think about when you’re going to do it.  Place your schedule in a place that all family members can see, such as an online calendar, chore chart or dry erase board in a central location.

Keep the Supplies Handy

Keep the cleaning supplies in an area that’s easy to reach. This way if you have extra time or there’s a random spill, you’re able to take care of the cleaning duties right there and then. If you have them hidden someplace where you’ll never see or find them, then it’s likely you won’t be encouraged to do much cleaning ever. Always keep cleaning at the forefront of your mind and take it in strides, instead of dreading it and pushing it off each week.

Vacuum and Sweep often

Vacuuming and sweeping are especially important if you have kids and pets. Kids seem to leave a trail of crumbs and dirt everywhere they go.  If you have pets, fur is bound to get in your carpets or leave hairballs on your hard floors. Your home will be messier quicker with kids and pets, and require you to clean on a regular basis. Also, it's good to avoid fleas and ticks by getting the best flea control for dogs. When it comes to flea and tick products, each dog and cat has unique needs. There are a variety of quality products to meet those needs at affordable prices. Prevent the fleas from entering your home and it’ll help you keep a cleaner space to live.

Organize & Declutter

A simple, but (initially) time-consuming way to make your house look cleaner is to organize and declutter. It takes some time in the beginning, but will save you time in the end. Buy organizational tools and bins that are going to help you give every item in your home a place. As they say, "A place for everything and everything in it's place." Go through closets, the basement and shelves to sort out what you no longer use or like.  Either sell or donate what you no longer need.  You’ll feel more relaxed and stress-free in a home that’s organized and clutter free.  Plus, less stuff means fewer things to clean and dust around! Simplicity is key.

Conclusion

Busy schedules often prevent you from sticking to a cleaning routine. These are suggestions to help you manage your cleaning tasks better, no matter how hectic life gets for you, so that you can live in a cleaner, less stressful home.
