Exhausted Mom? When You're Trying to Find Focus and Inspiration #momlife

Today, I'm finding that I'm still not focused.  Vacations are supposed to leave you feeling refreshed, right?  Hmmm. . . maybe I need another one.  😉 So, I'm looking up "inspiration when you're tired, exhausted".   Some suggestions that were listed on Ask.com:

***((note. . .. before the suggestions:  this is a throwback to march 2011. it's funny that it's still just as relevant today, 6 1/2 years later. . . . (almost to the day!!! it was originally posted 3/18/2011). . . i'm still just as exhausted, the reasons have just changed. instead of always being with a kid now, i have to get up earlier to get school lunches ready and drop off a teenager at band practice before school and soccer practices at night and soccer games on sundays and . . . . . . dealing with a teenager and preteen and all of their hormones while I just hit full-blown menopause. . .. .
o.m.g.   .   .   .so, yeah. . . . all of  this is still totally relevant!))***

Get a strong cup of coffee Done.
I'm not gonna lie, I loves myself some coffee.  The funny thing is, I never really even drank coffee before kids!  Now, I go to bed at night dreaming of my morning coffee.
Keep sight of the bigger picture.  I'm not sure I have a bigger picture.  Raise my kids the best I can.  That's my entire picture right now.  But, it gets befuddled by all of the minutia of everyday life.---------Really, this is where all of the exhaustion comes in.  I become overwhelmed with all of the tiny little things that don't matter in the overall scheme of things, but nonetheless still need to be done.  Note:  6 1/2 years later.  Still.. The.. Same..  Yep.

Change your diet.  Aha!!!  This one I KNOW I need to do.  And I was going to quit sugar 2 days ago, but I got a little stressed out and decided that an M&M McFlurry was in order.  Fail on the sugar cessation.  You know there's gonna be a note about now. .. 6 1/2 years later, right?  Haha!  Ohmygosh.  I mean, seriously???  I tried to give up sugar again yesterday. Yes..ter..day.  So far so good, but that's only because in the last 2 weeks I've eaten 2 birthday cakes, an M & M McFlurry, ice cream, and the list goes on. . .  .  .  for real.  I'm not even kidding.

Take a nap.  Hahahahahahahhahaha.  Spoken by someone without kids, obviously.  (This one is a little easier 6 1/2 years later.. . . . , although I still always have a ton of stuff that needs to get done and very rarely take naps.)

Play Music.  This one sounds do-able.  Okay.  Music.  Funny side note 6 1/2 years later:  I almost never turn music on while I'm alone.  It drives my hubby crazy.  He's always like, "How can you stand it so quiet in here???  Don't you want music on?"  and I'm like, "NOOOOOOOO!!! I want perfect peace and quiet.  Please.  For the love of everything . . . . . I don't even know how to finish that statement!  Just "No! Please. Quiet."

Light a candle.  That one's my own.  I bought some springier candles last week and put all of my winter ones away.  The spring candles help a little. Okay, so I'm kind of a candle hoarder.  There. I said it.  Even through all of my de-cluttering over the years, I can't make myself get rid of the candles.  We've also moved on to incense burning now, too.

Child's pose.  This one is mine too.  Before I left for vacation, the kids were for one reason or another getting on my nerves (I'm only human, folks).  So, I went to my room and sat in child's pose and let myself just breathe for a couple minutes.  Ended up doing it a little later too.  Don't have time to take a nap, but I can take a couple minutes and just sit in child's pose or any other yoga pose.  This one is still good if I remember to do it.  And OHHHH, how human I am.  The yelling hasn't stopped since they were younger.  But some swear words might have started slipping in.  Just Ask the neighbors. . . . . . . . . . Need to remember. . .. . . MORE Yoga, Less Swear Words.

Not once in the Ask.com answers did anyone say anything about prayer.  In my devotional Bible this morning, there was this poem on one of the pages that I was reading.  I hope that if any of the rest of you are tired, weary, fatigued or just plain ol' worn out, this will help.

I think this poem was really more meaningful to me this morning because of my post yesterday that I was thankful for praying children.  We all need to be more like children in our faith.

I hope that all of you are able to find the refreshment and focus that you need today to accomplish all of your goals.
