20 Christmas Tree Decoration Ideas

I'm sure a lot of you already have your Christmas decorations up.  Some of you could have already had them up for three weeks now!  There was some post recently floating around Facebook about how people who put their trees up earlier might be happier.  We did finally get ours up this year, although we never put ours up before Thanksgiving anyway, so maybe this year we were actually early!  Who couldn't use a little cheer from some bright, twinkling lights though?

I've been on the search for some fun Christmas tree decorating ideas and here are 20 lovely ones I've found.

1.  I LOVE the Farmhouse Christmas tree from Liz at Love Grows Wild.  The large white ornaments and pinecones are just right for a farmhouse tree.  Make sure you check out her post to see the rest of her bedroom as well.  Way too cute.  Simple Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom

2.  You can see Lucy's Winter Wonderland tree in her home tour that she shared last year at her craftberry bush blog.  I love how it looks like it was just plucked right out of a snowed in forest.

3. I love the grapevine and rustic elements in this Rustic Christmas Tree at Sawdust 2 Stitches.

4. The next one is really cute, but it's made even more cute because you can use ordinary paint to dress up your own artificial tree to give it that snowy look.  What a great idea.  The huge candy canes are just the icing on the cake. . . er. . . tree! Check out the Peppermint & Snow Christmas Tree.

5. Black and White might not be the first colors you think of when it comes to Christmas decorations, but check out how cute this black and white plaid tree is at By Stephanie Lynn!

6.  I was looking for rainbow trees when the next one popped up and I knew I had to share it.  Apparently, the ornaments were from a Kohl's collection several years ago, but I love how they are arranged like a rainbow.  I think it turned out very cute!   You can find it and other beach inspired Christmas themes at Beachblissliving.com

7. I love this colorful flocked tree by Inspired By Charm and he has a lot of really great ideas for the holidays in this post!  You must check them out.

8. If you are looking for a modern, minimalist look, this next one is for you.  Simple and pretty from HomeyOhMy

9.   Although my hubby probably wouldn't like the next one, because he's not a big fan of turquoise, I LOVE it!  I love, first of all that it's a tall, narrow tree.  Then, I just love the blues and silver. You can find it at Refresh Restyle blog.

10.  If you have kids who love LEGO bricks, you'll have to check out this LEGO tree and how-tos at Happiness is Homemade.  So cute!

11. How about a cupcake themed Christmas Tree?  Hello Nutritarian created a scrumptious, fun, little tree!

12. Or, howabout a Star Wars Droids Christmas Tree?

13. This jeweled forest Christmas tree from Design Dazzle is very pretty.

14. I love the big fabric garland in this tree.  You can find out how to make one in the post from Pocket of Posies.

18.  Here's another tree from Design Dazzle.  I love, love, love the red and white check on this one.

19.  This next one is from Christmas & Winter Blessings on Tumblr. The plaid ribbon, snowmen, woodlands animals and birdhouses are really cute.

20.  For one last idea, this little tree decorated with pompoms is fun and simple. This one is from House & Garden
