How to Share a Healthy Life with Your Partner

If you are going to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is vital that you have the support of your loved ones. There will be days when you feel like giving into your vices and letting go of your ambitious goals. In order to get through this, you should think about asking your partner to join you on your journey. This will be a fantastic bonding experience and will ensure that you always have the encouragement that you need. If you are wondering where to start, you will need to read on. Below are five ways that you can share a healthy life with your partner.

Get out and about

Make sure that you, and your partner, are spending plenty of time in the great outdoors. This will have amazing benefits for your health and will instantly improve your mood. If you are struggling for motivation, why not invest in some new sports equipment? This could provide you with a strong incentive to go outdoors. For instance, you could visit Jetsurfny.com and purchase a water jet board. What better reason for you, and your partner, to head to the beach?

Create a meal plan

To enjoy a healthy lifestyle, you will need to create a meal plan. Now that your partner is involved in your health kick, this will be much easier, as you won’t have to create two different meals. You will also be able to rid your home of any naughty treats. If you are currently managing a busy schedule, you will need to plan ahead. You could even pre-prepare your meals at the start of each week. This will save you valuable time and will prevent you from giving up on your healthy diet.

Meditate together

Why not take some time out and meditate with your partner? This is a fantastic way for you to manage your stress levels. You could also try couples yoga. There are plenty of challenging positions that are perfect for two people. This activity will help to improve your flexibility, develop your core, and strengthen the bond between you and your partner.

Clean the air in your home

Another step that you need to take, is cleaning the air in your home. In order to do this, you should seriously consider investing in an air purifier. This will help to improve the respiratory health of your household. You should also leave your windows open on a regular basis, as this will allow all of the stale air to escape.  Plants are also good at purifying the air and make great additions to the home.

Sync your sleeping pattern

Finally, you should work with your partner to establish a sleeping pattern. Ideally, you should both be getting at least eight hours a night. If you always fall asleep at different times, you should try to reach a compromise. This will improve your chances of enjoying a deep sleep, as you won’t have any background noise to disturb you. It is also important that you both turn off your technology at a suitable time. Perhaps you could make the decision to leave it outside of the bedroom.

  1. All good tips. My fave: getting the partner involved in your health kick too. My oldest son and his wife work out together and eat these super healthy meals all of the time. I had my granddaughter one day and thought it would be fun to take her to McDonald's. She cried when she got her Happy Meal. She'd never seen a hamburger, and couldn't fathom a sandwich without avocado, lolol. She didn't eat there (we sat there and chatted while my youngest son ate his food), and I fed her when we got back home. :) Good habits are way more fun when the whole family is invested and I admire them for that tons!

  2. It is such a struggle ... My husband and I do everything together ... so sometimes I feel we need to find activities of our own to do ... but working out and sleeping at the same time always helps us stay on track.

  9. While I think that these are great tips, how would one go about getting their partner to agree to such changes My husband and I are polar opposite, so even though I handle the food he still manages to wrangle in the worst of foods.

    1. I have friends who have hubbies like that! I would say start with small changes. Sometimes people think that they don't like something, but if they try it in a new way, their tastes can change. Every little bit helps and maybe eventually you guys can meet somewhere in the middle.

  11. I think i really should look into an air purifier. I can’t kid myself into thinking that i will keep plants alive. And i never open the windows. It’s on my list now and you know how it’s a couple’s thing? I’m asking him to buy it lol!

    1. It's hard to open the windows in the Winter time here, so the air purifier helps! Maybe start with one easy to take care of plant? LOL I manage to keep some alive for several months to a couple years. I figure while they're alive, they're cleaning the air. I feel bad if they manage to die, but most of mine are $3 - $4 and they do a good job cleaning the air while I can keep them alive. :)

    1. I think the idea is just to work together. Maybe sit down for a couple minutes to discuss the kinds of things that you like to eat & the two of you could work together toward some kind of compromise, beginning with little healthy tweaks in the beginning.
