Key Lime Pie

I got these lovely little babies at the grocery store the other day.
When I saw the bag of them, I knew I had to try a homemade Key Lime Pie.  I began my search for a recipe the same place I always do!
I was NOT disappointed with this recipe.
It tasted the same as I remember the Key Lime Pies tasting in the Keys.  It was rich and sweet and tangy.

You can find the recipe HERE.
Fancy plates, huh?  It's summertime and I'm tired of doing dishes!
A couple notes:
  • The recipe calls for 3 cups of Sweetened Condensed Milk.  That is two 14 oz. cans.
  • We got roughly 1/2 cup of lime juice from our pound of limes.  The recipe calls for 3/4 cup of Key Lime Juice.  We had to use 1/4 cup of regular lime juice.
  • Getting 1 Tbsp. of Lime zest is a chore.  But the pie is so worth it!
The Aftermath of all of the Zesting and Squeezing!
Have you ever tried to bake your own Key Lime Pie?  What is your favorite pie?
