Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that everyone in the US has a very Happy Thanksgiving!

We've already celebrated Thanksgiving once here.  We had a turkey (of course), stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy (which I made homemade--go me!), squash casserole, green bean casserole and rolls.  We forgot to put out the olives!  We even made a point of checking to make sure we had some in the pantry.  Forgot.  But, there was still plenty to eat!  My stepmom even made a homemade pumpkin pie.

Tomorrow we'll be getting up to watch the parade.
And I'll make my squash casserole again to take to my in-laws house.  Unfortunately the store I went to today didn't have yellow squash, so I had to get zucchini.  I've never made this casserole with zucchini before, so we'll see how it goes.  It's a yellow squash casserole that has spicy sausage, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, bread crumbs and cheddar cheese.  I've been making it for what seems like forever.  I know I printed the original recipe when I was still working, which would have been before Logan was born.  So, I've been making it at least 9 years.

Usually we go over to my in-laws house around 1:00.  After dinner, the guys usually go out in the garage and have beers and cigars.  And the women stay inside and have a glass of wine and look at the sale ads, even though we've never done the Black Friday shopping thing.  Several years my hubby has had to work on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  He will have to work this Friday, too.  So, there is no way I'd do Black Friday with kids.  It's just not going to happen.  Plus, there's not much we need to buy this year.

I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving!  I don't want to rush the holidays, but we'll be able to put up our Christmas trees soon!!

As for tonight--apparently the biggest "going out" night of the year (or so I've been told twice so far today)--we'll probably be hanging out with friends.  We all have kids, so no "going out" for us!  Although if you read my last post, you know I'm ready to go out!!
