What's Up? Life and All. . .

I feel like it's been forever since I've posted!  I think it's been almost a week and I'm sorry for that.  I'm rearranging some things in my life and trying to figure out how things fit in.
Last week I stretched weird on Wednesday morning and got a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder.  It was the weirdest thing.  I've woken up with pinched nerves before, but never actually felt it get pinched between the muscles.  Needless to say, I haven't been working out much.  I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes last Wednesday and that's it!  We'll be going today and I'll probably stay on the treadmill again and maybe get the leg machines.
I'm paring down some of my blogging stuff and have gotten rid of some of my social media accounts.  Last week I got rid of my Google+ account, LinkedIn, Triberr and Twitter.
If you were following me via those accounts before, you won't be getting updates from me.  You can subscribe to my blog via email now to keep up.
It has been weird getting used to not checking those accounts.  But, I'm trying to simplify my life and it had to be done.  The only reason I regret closing them is because it was a useful platform for Mom Bloggers for Social Good and The Global Team of 200, who work together to create change in the world.
I still have the Quirky Homemaker Blogs Facebook page and Pinterest.  I would never, ever, ever get rid of Pinterest!  Although, I do need to start doing some of the projects that I've been pinning.  Once this home addition is finally done, I look forward to doing more projects.
At the beginning of the year, I joined a group called The Inspiring Moms Network.  We're all working on projects together to become the best version of ourselves this year.  The posts that I've done so far that have been inspired by the Inspiring Moms Network are these:
We're also doing the 21 day meditation challenge with Deepak Chopra and Oprah right now.  I am about 9 days behind!  It has been a challenge trying to find quiet time to do the meditations.
My hubby has been working again.  He was laid off the first two weeks of the month, which was both a blessing and a bit of turmoil for us.  It was a blessing because he was able to finish our kitchen and begin work in the new living room/laundry room/bathroom.  We've been using the kitchen for about three weeks now.  And we had a great time breaking it in when our friends came over the night before St. Patrick's day.  A good time was had by all!
The lay off of course was a little bit of a stressor for us as well though, because that would be two weeks pay that we wouldn't be getting.  One week would have been okay because there's an extra paycheck in March anyway.  But, two weeks?   Yikes!  Everything is working out okay so far, though.
We did get good news last week about the cruise the kids and I are going on this summer.  The price went down!!  Yay!  And yes. . . . .we are still planning on going on our Carnival cruise, even with all of the problems they've been having lately.
As far as the addition goes (I know I'm jumping around), we're waiting for the plumber to come finish up the plumbing in the bathrooms and laundry room.  Then, my hubby can install everything in the bathroom, put the walls up and put the floor down.  And we still need to take the old carpet up in the living room, lay new plywood down and have carpet installed.  By that point, everything else is small touch-up type things that need to be done.  And I guess, we will still need to finish the sunroom.
It seems like everything is going so slowly now and the interest rates keep inching up.  So, we would really like for this addition to be done so that we can refinance.  And so that we can get our life back in order.  I am SO ready for it all to be done.  I feel so discombobulated with stuff all over the place.  I'm ready for everything to have a final home so that I know where everything is.
I will still be trying to simplify more once everything has it's new home.  I was supposed to be taking part in the 40 bags in 40 days challenge at White House Black Shutters, but everything else about life got in the way!  I did make some good progress in the first few days.  I got rid of a LOT of videos in our movie trunks.  We got rid of some books.  I found some magazines that I could recycle.  I filed paperwork.  It was good.  I just can't wait until I can get EVERYTHING done!
I look forward to the rest of 2013 being an inspiring year.  I look forward to finding out who I'm supposed to be.  I look forward to more quality time with my family.  I look forward to more peace.  I look forward to bringing you guys creative, inspiring ideas. . . . although it might not be as frequently as in the past.
Blessings to you all!
