Well, Of Course I've Found My Voice!

Today's NaBloPoMo prompt is:

Do you feel you have found your voice on your blog? What techniques have you tried to develop your voice in your writing? What are some characteristics of your personality in your writing?

I think that I've had "my" voice since the very beginning.  I really don't think there's any way I could NOT ever have my voice.  Truly, I think that's why the people who liked me DID like me way back when.  I am honest and truthful and there's no way I can be anyone BUT myself.   Sometimes I'm thoughtful and nostalgic.  Sometimes I'm serious.  Sometimes I make fun of myself.  Sometimes I'm just downright silly.  These are all parts of my personality and I think that throughout my blogging "career", that has always been apparent.

I don't think I've ever tried to develop my voice in writing.  I just am who I am.  What you see is what you get.  I write from the heart.  Or from the funny bone.  Or from whatever annoyance I'm dealing with at the time.  What I've always tried to be is real.  And when people visit, I want them to feel like they're listening to or talking to a friend.

I think a main characteristic (at least I hope!) of my personality in my writing is my honesty.  I know, I know. . . . . . . I keep saying the same thing.  But, like I said. . . . . .what you see is what you get.

I started blogging back in January of 2011 and blogged pretty steadily until May of 2013.  I had a good following, a Google PR 3, a great Alexa ranking and jobs coming left and right.  Then my family said, "Enough!"   I loved my time blogging, but my family was (is) more important to me.

Oh, how I have missed it though.  So for now, I'm back for fun.  I hope to stay at it pretty regularly, but we'll see.  I think we all know how life goes.

I'm excited to be back.  How about you?  Do you think you've found your voice in blogging?  Or life?
