Friday Fitness Update 2016 Week 1

We're a little more than one week into 2016!!! Can you believe it?  I can't.  On a good note~~we all survived our first week back after the holidays!  Woo Hoo!

My week was a little off because I had a little girl home with me with a tummy ache two days this week.  I am not set enough in my schedule to be able to deal with out of the ordinary things yet.  In fact, I don't even have a schedule set yet.

I'm still in the process of figuring out how to fit it all in.  For example, I know that I can get 2 loads of laundry started before I even get the second child on the bus in the morning.  And I'm pretty sure that if I don't continue with my normal "snooze" schedule in the morning (hitting it twice!), I can fit in my Bible time then.  BUT~~~ the snoooooooze button!  I'll try next week.  I really should go to bed earlier, but my kids don't go to bed until 9 PM and that's my "alone" time or "hubby" time after that.


Here's a look at the DVDs that I used this week:

I didn't do bad this week.  I didn't get as many days in as I would have liked, but
I worked pretty hard on the days that I did work out.  I'm going to have to get a "before" photo soon, although technically I've been working out for over a month now.

My January goal for time is 840 minutes, which is 14 hours.  It's just easier to say it in minutes because some days I might only have 20 minutes and then some days I might be able to spend an hour working out.

Here's how my week looked since the last time I updated you guys.  My last update was on New Year's Eve, which was last Thursday.

Friday January 1:  Off, BUT I climbed many stairs for the rides at Kalahari AND our room seemed like it was a mile away from the waterpark.  I got a lot of steps in on our little New Year's Weekend trip!

Saturday January 2:  Off, BUT I got an arm and shoulder workout holding myself up in my innertube on the lazy river.  No lounging in the tube for me!  And those stairs again.

Sunday January 3:  Off.  Just off.

Monday January 4:  20 Minutes of Kathy Smith Pilates DVD-- Abs
                                    20 Minutes of Belly Dance (Kathy Smith also)
                                    50 Plie squats                                 
                                    5 Minutes of stretching
                                    30 Pushups on my knees--I have to do these with my hands wide.  I can't do the ones with my hands right under my shoulders yet.  Not quite strong enough yet.
Tuesday January 5:    Off

Wednesday January 6:  53 minutes Empowering Long and Lean Pilates--This is one of the DVDs that has a Pilates prop that you can use. It's a bar with elastic straps that have loops on the end.  You can see it in the picture above.
                                         10 Knee pushups

Thursday January 7:   Off

Friday January 8:       Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown DVD 35 Minutes

I worked out a total of 138 minutes.    138/840  I'm 16% of the way to my January fitness minute goal.
