Two More Squat Challenges That I Found Today on YouTube

Of course, I'm trying to get in shape now, just. like. every. body. else.

I was doing so well this time last year.  Weren't we all?  In fact I had been doing well for several months before the New Year last year. I have no idea when it all went to sh. . . you-know-what last year.  It might have been when I started working outside the house?  Although I do remember working out some days before I went in.  Who knows?

As we did last year, my friends and I are doing the Undie Run again this year.  The Undie Run benefits the Children's Tumor Foundation.  Last year it was so cold I actually ended up wearing a long sleeved shirt and leggings under my undies.  I was completely covered from head to toe.  This year I'm going to actually try to do the undie thing.  Northeast Ohio in the beginning of February isn't too kind, though.  At any rate, it would be nice if I could be a little better in shape to be in my undies in public.  I actually hate showing skin.  To be truthful, I'm pretty modest.  Okay, truth be told I'm going to try to wear boxer shorts and a long-sleeved crop top.  I still need to be in shape though.

As you may know if you read my blog, I'm doing the Whole30 right now.  It's clean eating for 30 days straight with no slip-ups.  If you slip up you have to start completely over again from Day 1.  I'm on Day 4 and as far as I know, I haven't slipped up yet.  I'm not doing it to lose weight.  I definitely don't need to lose weight.  When I change my eating habits and work out, it's usually to become stronger and to get my blood pressure and cholesterol down.

Anywho!  As I am trying to become stronger right now, I am working out.  I thought I'd try out some YouTube videos to let you guys know what I think of them.  Plus, it's just easy.  I can pull YouTube up on my Firestick and watch it on my TV.  Super easy.  The Squat challenges I did today?  Not quite as easy!!!

I tried out 2 squat challenges today.  One was pretty short and was a Blogilates video and one was about three times as long and was by Fitness Blender.  Here are the videos, preceded by what I thought about them.

The first one I did was a video that looks to be about 4 years old.  She worked out to the Call Me Maybe Song and so called the video "Call Me Maybe Mighty Squat Challenge Workout"   I like Blogilates girl. She's perky and fun.  I like her! In fact, I think I've done some of her videos before. You can hear the music, but it's not a major part of the video.  Since the video is around 5 minutes, I thought that the workout was actually that long, but she actually does a little advertising at the end about her other videos and her shop where you can buy tshirts and such.  So, the workout might be around 3 1/2 minutes long.  Even though it was 3 1/2 minutes long, it left my legs and but burning.  There is a really quick warm-up in the beginning, which was basically some pulsing squats to warm the legs up.

The second one I did was by Fitness Blender.  I believe it was about 10 minutes long.  Okay.  I almost quit on this one until she said, "Okay, final ones."  Then I was like, "Okay, I won't quit.  It's the final set."  I'm not gonna lie.  I didn't make it all the way through every exercise.  I think there were two when I quit on the 7th rep.  This challenge is 10 each of 10 different squats.  I like the variance in squats.  It makes it fun.  I also like that this video shows the next exercise and how to do it in the upper left corner before you do it.  There's also a little down time between sets where you kind of jog back and forth.  There is however, no warmup and no cool down.  I really liked this video and might do it again sometime.  Out of the 2 I did today, this would probably be the one I choose.
