My Whole30 Journey, Days 8 - 14 in Photos & Food Re-Entry Update

 It's been 7 days since I completed my Whole 30.  I've been eating some foods that were not allowed on my Whole 30 here and there.  These are the foods that I've eaten since completing the Whole 30:  Dark Chocolate, Wine, Beer, French Dip (probably on white bread), crackers, goat and sheep cheese, some kind of summer sausage, pepperoncinis.  Can you say the Undie Run and Super Bowl fell on the weekend after my completion of the Whole 30???  For the most part, I kept up my Whole 30 eating plan until the Cupid's Undie Run on the 4th.

How have all the re-introduced foods been affecting me?  Well, that's hard to tell.  I wish it wouldn't have been a huge party weekend.  My tummy was as bloated as it's ever been the day after the Undie Run and I think it was from the beer and white bread. . . . and come to think of it, there might have been cheese on that French Dip!  Oy!  So, I have no way of knowing which part of that bad-for-me trifecta was the offending culprit.  I'm gonna have to say all of it.  Beer = bad. White bread = bad. Cheese = bad.  (For me, of course)  Don't get me wrong.  I LOVE all of it.  My body sure doesn't love all of it after not having it for 34 days.

Yesterday, even though I think white bread gave me an issue on Saturday, I had a piece of whole grain toast.  I think the whole grain toast actually wasn't that bad.  I didn't have too many bloating or comfort issues with that yesterday.  I also used a little butter on it.  So. . . .so far, I don't think I have an issue with whole grain bread or butter. 

Dark chocolate seems to be working out fine.

I'm going to try some goat cheese on a salad today.  I had too many other foods on Sunday night at the Super Bowl party to be able to tell how goat cheese affected me.

After drinking during the day at the Cupid's Undie Run, I didn't drink during the Super Bowl party.  I can tell you one thing for sure~~  I miss drinking, but my body sure doesn't.  I just don't like the way it feels when I wake up in the middle of the night, with dehydration and heart palpitations.  I even tried to pace myself on Saturday and drink plenty of water between beers.  Blech!

Have you ever tried the Whole 30 or any other cleansing diet (lifestyle change).  

Oh, real quick. . . funny story.  I was buying more produce at a grocery store the day of the Super Bowl.  I wanted to make this Hot & Spicy Marinated Asparagus to take to the party.  But the store I was at had some other good deals, so I bought several things.  The woman at the checkout said "Ech, too healthy for me."  I explained that I had been doing healthy foods for over 30 days and that now when I ate something bad for me, I just didn't feel good.  I explained which things I hadn't been eating and she replied, "Ech, Why would you even want to live?"  Too funny.  I've been getting a lot of different reactions to the Whole 30 guidelines.  Most people just don't want to give up the stuff they consider "yummy."

I just can't give up the way it makes my skin look.  My face has never been clearer in my life.  I'm going to try to keep sticking to a whole foods lifestyle as much as possible.  Of course I'll make exceptions for special occasions.
