4 Tips On Staying Healthy This Summer

There are many things you can do to have a presentable, healthy summer body that oozes sex appeal. Summer is definitely not the time to pile on the weight or let your skin become lackluster.   1. Summer Foot Care

It is important to care for your feet in the Summer. After all, the exposure to the scorching sun and hot surfaces can leave your feet rough and dry.  There are several ways you can care for your feet in the Summer. Some of them include exfoliating at least once a week, applying sunscreen and moisturizer to your feet, and using a pumice stone to scrub your feet and callouses etc. And, contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable for you to soak your feet in water as it could further dehydrate your dry feet; you can instead soak your feet with a sugar scrub. Hence, summer foot care is essential!

  1. Drinking Lemon Water

Drinking lukewarm lemon water first thing in the morning has numerous benefits. Not only is lemon good for cleansing the liver, it also helps improve the immunity levels. In addition to that, lemon water can also aid in proper digestion; lemons aid in loosening the toxins in the digestive tract and help the liver create bile juice, which are important procedures for proper digestion. You must always stay hydrated in the summer especially if you are regularly outdoors. The best way to rejuvenate and replenish your energy levels is by staying hydrated. So, whether it is coconut water, lemon water, or simply water, you must drink a lot.

  1. Say No to Desserts During Breakfast

Desserts were never created to be consumed during breakfast. Therefore, if you don´t want to pile on the extra pounds, you should steer clear of desserts such as cookies, almond croissants, sugary yogurt, and donuts! You can instead feed on fruits and protein such as melon, berries, plain yogurt, and eggs. In addition to making you feel great throughout the day, food that are rich in protein and fiber also help you feel full for longer periods, therefore, preventing you from over-eating.

  1. Apply sun screen

The sun, in many cases, is good for your body. However, over exposure to sunlight is not beneficial. If you are regularly outdoors, you will be exposed to the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. Therefore, it is essential for you to protect your skin from the sun when you are outside. You can do so by applying sun screen that boasts of a high SPF (sun protection factor). Sun screen can also be applied when you use heavy makeup. You should know that applying the sunscreen once will simply not do; you need to keep reapplying it according to necessity and your activity level. You should know that sun protection is not only for the Summers; it is a routine that should be religiously followed throughout the year.
