How to Find the Balance Between Mother and Woman

Being a mom can take a toll on your mind and body. You’re constantly being chased in all different directions and being called upon to solve problems that your kids and husband raise to you. They think you’re wonder mom and while that’s a compliment, it’s also exhausting.

As a mom, it’s easy to become tired and burned out. You may feel guilty, but wishing for some alone time doesn’t make you a bad person, or worse, a bad mom. Instead, it’s what you need to do, to become a great one. Rather than become worn out, make time for yourself. Improve your health and well-being so that you can be the best mom possible. Here’s how to find the balance between being a mother and being a woman.

Treat yourself

Remember that you matter, and that you have needs too.
Although you have a lot of different titles and responsibilities, you owe it to yourself to take care of you first. Pamper yourself with a trip to the spa or purchase your favorite used Ford Kuga vehicle to drive the kids around in. Roomy and comfortable, this SUV was one of the first to offer a tailgate that opens when you swing your foot underneath its behind, perfect if your arms are full of babies or groceries. This is just what you need to get you through the day, and a big purchase that’ll make you warm and happy inside.

Look at Photos & Watch Videos

Take time to yourself to go through old photos and watch videos of your kids as they were growing up. This is sure to make you feel a lot of love toward them instantly. Pat yourself on the back for all the hard work you’ve done to raise them. You’ll see all the reasons why you’ve worked so hard over the years and all of the happy memories you’ve had being a mother. These memories will put a smile on your face, and you’ll recall with ease all the reasons why you love being a mom.

Start a Mom’s Group

It’s possible you’ve been isolating yourself and only talking to your kids and husband. While it’s good to be involved with your family, you need support from moms and friends just like you. After talking with a mom’s support group, you’ll soon realize that you’re not alone, and a lot of other women feel the way you do. Meet on a regular basis over a cup of coffee and share feelings and thoughts on different areas of motherhood.

Spend Quality Time with your Kids

A lot of the time spent with your kids has to do with attending to their school responsibilities and activities. What you need is a day away with your kids to spend quality time with them and reconnect. This will give you a chance to laugh, talk and discuss subjects you don’t normally have time for when you’re rushing around at home. You’ll soon find your love for motherhood again.

It’s okay to feel wiped out and frustrated once in a while. Let yourself spend time alone, and make sure to look after number one. By taking a break, you’re allowing yourself to become the best mom you can be.
