5 Ways to Help Improve Your Wrinkles

Developing wrinkles as you get older is part of life. How many you get and how deep they are is in many ways dependent on your genes. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do other things to make them appear better. There are some creams and lotions that all claim to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, though it is all about how you care  for your skin that counts.

Wear Good Sunscreen

There have been recent studies that have shown the sun as the number one cause of wrinkles. Although many more people wear sunscreen compared to a few years ago, there are those who still don’t use it correctly. When purchasing your sunscreen, you need one that has a broad-spectrum of UVA and UVB with an SPF of at least 30. If you have particularly fair skin, you may want to use an SPF 50. You should also wear it even if it isn’t sunny as the harmful rays of the sun can still damage your skin on a cloudy day. It is important to reapply the sun cream every two hours to be sure you stay protected. Sunscreen will help to prevent not only wrinkles but skin cancer as well.  Also, don't forget the wide brimmed hat and sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Washing Your Face

Doctors have recommended that you should not wash your face more than twice a day. That is because there are natural skin oils that may get washed away with repeated cleansing. Even if you have oily skin, washing more than twice a day can irritate it, and cause breakouts. After washing your face, you can apply a toner to help balance the pH of your skin. It is best to avoid toners that contain alcohol as these can dry the skin out too much.

Use a Good Quality Moisturizer

There are many moisturizers on the market now that aim to target wrinkles and even prevent them from appearing. It is a good idea to apply your moisturizer twice a day after you have washed your face. The type of moisturizer you use depends on the ingredients; retinol, for example, is good for targeting wrinkles so cream with that ingredient will be beneficial.

Skin Care Products

You can find many types of skin care products on the market, and they all have a similar message, that they can help your skin, and prevent wrinkles. However, when you take a look at these creams, you should be looking for specific ingredients. Products containing idebenone, alpha-hydroxy acids, or antioxidants, can all have beneficial effects on the skin.

Plastic Surgery

For some people, the creams and moisturizers they use have little effect, or they start to lessen their effectiveness over time. For those people, they will sometimes turn to a company such as Discreet Plastic Surgery who can help to reduce their wrinkles by surgery or skin rejuvenation.

Having a good skin routine is vital if you want to keep your face looking supple and wrinkle-free. However, even if you do have some wrinkles, a good routine can help to prevent more from occurring.
