Yummy Treats

Everyone loves a treat now and then, even those of us who are so strict on a diet that they turn their noses up at even the sight of a treat. Every now and then a treat is good for the soul. It can literally change moods, even if sometimes we do feel a little bit guilty after having a bite to eat. Luckily for us, there are so many different little treats you can have, not just that you’ll love, but that your whole family will love as well. If you’re looking for a bit of inspiration, here are a few yummy treats that you could whip up yourself to enjoy.

Drink Treats

Just because we’re talking about yummy treats, it doesn’t mean they all have to be food. Some drinks are absolutely lovely, and one we know most of you enjoy daily is coffee. The coffee we usually have is so mediocre compared to what you could create. Really fresh coffee from an individual company rather than a supermarket gives you that luxurious flavor that you’ve been missing out on. So, what you need to do is grab yourself some coffee beans and grind them down until they’re a fine powder. Get yourself a scoop and boil the kettle. Now, to make it a bit of a treat, you’ve got to add flavour. So, from your local store you should be able to find a range of different coffee additions to treat the palate. One we recommend is caramel, which will go lovely with a nice little caramel biscuit to finish. Once you try it this way, you’ll always be flavoring your coffee.

Sweet Treats

You’re either a sweet person or you’re a savory person, and if you’re a sweet person then we know how easy it is to get a bit out of hand every now and then. But, we’re here to get out of hand, so here’s a good suggestion for you. To keep it interesting, why not try one of the videos you see on the social media pages such as Tasty, where they produce the most outlandish things, but it just looks so easy to cook. One of their latest creations is a churro ice cream bowl, and yes, it’s a good as it sounds. Start by melting ¼ cup of butter in a pan with 2lbs of brown sugar, ½ a teaspoon of salt, and 1 cup of water. Add in 1 cup of flour and keep mixing with a wooden spoon until it becomes a dough like texture. Leave to cool for five minutes. Add one teaspoon of vanilla extract, 4 eggs one by one while mixing in well between eggs. Get yourself an icing bag and spoon the mixture in. Tip over a cupcake baking tray so the bits are facing up rather than in. Slightly grease around the moulds, and use the icing bag to squeeze the mixture around the moulds, completely covering the top. Freeze until solid, then bring to the boil a pan of oil. Drop the moulds in and cook one at a time. What you’re then left with is a churro bowl. All you then need to do is add your favourite ice cream and thank us later! Something so simple as that to make is just so yummy.
